This new position of Apprentice Auto-electrician is a vital development for our business and will enable further growth and product development. Under the guidance of our Operations Manager, a fully qualified Volkswagen Master Technician, the Apprentice will receive daily training, guidance and hands on experience of auto-electrics – from building and installing systems, to diagnosing and solving faults, and designing and developing new products and innovations. The role will provide the opportunity for wider diversification within a growing business.


• To grow and develop skills and knowledge through in house training, external training and hands on experience to become the lead person within the business for all auto electric related issues – covering installation, fault diagnosis, process improvement and product development. • To engage with all other employees in looking to continuously improve the productivity of the business, the workplace environment and the positive impact the business can have on the local community. • To attend supplier led external training courses across the UK – including Volkswagen, Webasto & Kuranda. • To undertake other general workshop and conversion duties as and when required. • To work with other colleagues to ensure that all relevant conversion work is undertaken strictly to the Conformity of Production schedules as laid out in the company’s Full Approval certification. • To take personal responsibility for ensuring your own and your colleagues health & safety in all workshop matters. • To work with all staff to continually identify opportunities to improve company processes, productivity and product design. • To maintain a clean and tidy area on and around your own working area and to return all tools and workshop implements to their designated place after use.

Essential criteria

We expect all employees to be passionate and committed, to ask questions and be innovative, to build solid relationships with other employees and to roll up their sleeves and help each other out whenever it is needed. All candidates must be able to demonstrate an ability to think creatively and problem solve. No previous experience in electrics is required, however, a proven interest in and enthusiasm for the understanding of how things work is vital.
