We are seeking a dedicated and caring After School Club Leader to support children in a safe and engaging environment. We run Lego coding clubs so the ideal candidate would have an interest in Lego and experience coding. It is essential you have experience working with children.

The successful candidate will help facilitate activities, supervise children, and provide assistance with their developmental needs. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about working with children, especially those with special educational needs or disabilities. The position offers an opportunity to make a positive impact on young learners' lives while developing valuable skills in childcare and education.

Hours & Location

You must be able to work Monday-Friday afternoons and a Saturday during term time. Over the summer our camps are 8:30-3:30 Monday-Friday, you must be able to work at least 3 of these per week.

Locations: Musselburgh, Morningside, Cramond, Lasswade, Juniper Green, and Clermiston

• Bring equipment to and from the venue and set up. This means you have to have your own car and be willing to store the Lego in your car
• Supervise children during after-school hours, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
• Organising and leading a variety of educational and recreational activities suitable for children of different ages and abilities
• Support children with special educational needs or disabilities, adapting activities as necessary to promote inclusion
• Foster positive behaviour through effective communication and encouragement, promoting social skills and teamwork
• Maintain a clean and organised environment, ensuring all play areas are safe and welcoming
• Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding children's progress or any concerns that arise during the programme

• Experience working with children, particularly in educational or childcare settings
• Knowledge of special education principles and working with individuals with disabilities is highly desirable
• Your own car and driver’s license to take equipment to the different locations £0.45p per mile travel expenses
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and team members
• Experience with Lego and coding
• Ability to provide tutoring or additional academic support tailored to individual children's needs
• Experience in working with a variety of young people of all ages
• Compassionate, patient, and enthusiastic about supporting children's development in a nurturing environment
